ASRA homes for rent, like those of other housing associations, are designed for people who are in priority need or even homeless. This includes people on lower incomes, people currently living in substandard housing or those experiencing some other type of difficulty.
General needs housing suitable for most people
If you want an ASRA general needs home for rent, (that is, you are single, a couple, or in a family and have no extra care or support needs) you must show that you are in housing need, and be referred to us by your local council. You should first register with your local council - call their housing department to find out how.
We cannot guarantee to provide housing in an emergency. If you are homeless or about to become homeless, then please go to your local council straight away. The council has its own guidelines about who they can house, and if you meet these you are most likely to be given bed and breakfast accommodation.
Sheltered housing for Asian people aged over 50, and Supported housing for Asian women (shared accommodation and self-contained)
If you are in one of these categories, you can apply to us directly by calling up for an application form on 020 7940 6656.
Once we have received your application, one of our staff will come and visit you. All applications are awarded points for different needs and criteria.
The aim is to prioritise applications for housing in a way, which is fair, based on housing need, open to scrutiny and easily understood by applicants.
How long it will take before you are offered an ASRA home depends on where you would like to live and what we have available. If you would like more information about the points system for supported housing then please call us on 020 7940 6656.
